Welcome to the Marine Mammals Lab. This exercise is designed to familiarize you with both the common and scientific names of the more common marine mammals found in the Salish Sea, as well as the individual names of many of the orcas that inhabit these waters, and some of the physical behaviors that they exhibit. I recommend that you print-out the worksheet (accessible with your password), then progress through the photos in the linked Sections 1-3. For each photograph I have stated exactly what I want you to identify (either the marine mammals common name, an orcas individual name, or the marine mammals behavior.) I have also included hints to help you with your identification process.
